Rangers Logo Main Club Low ResolutionIt is that time of year for Utah Ranger Tryouts. Due to poor spring weather, the tryouts for all age groups have been adjusted from years past. Generally speaking the Academy tryouts will be the week of May 10-15. The U-10 through U14 tryouts will be the week of May 17-22. The U15 through U18 tryouts will be the week of May 24-29. You can click on the "Calendar" tab and then link to the applicable age group calendar for specific dates and times. Make sure that you are in the calendar month of May to check for exact dates.

If you're uncertain about your age group designation (U7 through U18) for our annual May tryouts, use the following list to sort out any confusion. Next year's age groups take effect on August 1st 2010. If you still have questions about your designated age group, please email our Club Director, Greg Jolley to assist you.

Short Cut For Determining Age Group

You can use the birthdates listed above to determine age group for the coming soccer year or you can use a little short cut that we like. Since the cut off date for determining age group for the coming year is July 31st all you need to do is determine how old the player will be in July 31st of this year and then assign the age group. Below are examples in each age group to illustrate how to calculate your age group using this information.

  • If the player is 9 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 10 or what we call a U10 player for the coming soccer year.
  • If the player is 10 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 11 or what we call a U11 player for the coming soccer year.
  • If the player is 11 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 12 or what we call a U12 player for the coming soccer year.
  • If the player is 12 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 13 or what we call a U13 player for the coming soccer year.
  • If the player is 13 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 14 or what we call a U14 player for the coming soccer year.
  • If the player is 14 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 15 or what we call a U15 player for the coming soccer year.
  • If the player is 15 years old on July 31st, then he will be an under 16 or what we call a U16 player for the coming year.
  • If the player is 16 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 17 or what we call a U17 player for the coming soccer year.
  • If the player is 17 years old on July 31st then he will be an under 18 or what we call a U18 player for the coming soccer year.
